Mission Statement
The Secular Coalition for Arizona is the legislative voice of the Arizona nontheistic community and works to lobby and educate elected officials and bodies in and from the state of Arizona regarding issues important to Arizona nontheists.
About Us
The Secular Coalition for Arizona is a 501c4 lobby organization that represents the Arizona nontheistic community -- a vibrant and growing community of Arizonans who self identify as atheists, agnostics, Humanists, freethinkers, and other labels of personal choosing, to elected officials in and from Arizona.
We mediate the relationship between the nontheistic community and elected officials, and we work to ensure that the law is never biased to the detriment and interests of Arizona's nontheists.
The Secular Coalition for Arizona is a state affiliated organization of the Secular Coalition for America in Washington D.C.
History & Organization
The Arizona nonthistic community is organized, diverse, and thriving. In 2010 the Secular Coalition for Arizona, the first State Affiliate of the Secular Coalition for America in Washington D.C., was formed in a cooperative effort by the Arizona nontheistic community to collectively take their voice in a meaningful and professional way to Arizona elected officials.
SC Arizona is operated by its Board of Directors and executive staff and receives policy influence and comment from the various and diverse nontheistic and nontheistic friendly groups from around Arizona.
These liaised nontheistic organizations are: Flagstaff Freethinkers, Freedom From Religion Foundation Valley of the Sun Chapter, Freethought Arizona, Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix, Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers - Arizona Delegation, Or Adam Congregation for Humanistic Judaism, Phoenix Atheist Meetup Group, Prescott Freethinkers, Secular Student Alliance at Northern Arizona University, Secular Student Alliance at Prescott College, SORA at Embry Riddle, and Tucson Atheists.
The liaised nontheistic-friendly organizations are: Americans United for the Separation of Church & State - Greater Phoenix Chapter.
Collectively these organizations represent thousands of individuals.
