On the Road: Secular Humanist Jewish Circle of Tucson

Secular Coalition for Arizona Director of Government Affairs Tory Anderson enjoyed a visit with the Secular Humanist Jewish Circle of Tucson recently as part of their annual Sukkoth celebration.   Tory discussed the activities of the Secular Coalition for Arizona during the previous two legislative sessions, and a lively discussion occurred regarding the state's use of public tax dollars to subsidize religious education through school vouchers and private school tax credits.   Kent Barrabee, a school district board member in Tucson, was particularly vocal about his concerns with state dollars being averted from public to private religious education.  Other topics of great interest to the group included religious privilege in tax law and junk science mandates.

The Secular Humanist Jewish Circle has been a liaised organization of the Secular Coalition for Arizona for several years.  We appreciate their unique perspective on secular public policy and are proud to reprensent their views at our state legislature.  You can join the members of Secular Humanist Jewish Circle of Tucson in standing for our fight for secular public policy by becoming a member of Secular Coalition for Arizona today!
