Crossover week is over – and what a clown show it was. The GOP-led legislature introduced so many performatively bad bills that they were literally up all night voting. Shockingly (said no one), this resulted in chaos and at least one GOP lawmaker stomping out in a huff. Isn’t it amazing when one’s own actions result in (completely predictable) consequences?
Now’s the time to increase the pressure on our elected officials: Speak up against the unconstitutional bills that have passed their own chamber, getting closer to the governor’s desk or the ballot box.
Our elected officials need to hear your opposition to bad bills that target trans and nonbinary students, stifle free speech, ban books, codify discrimination, take away reproductive rights, criminalize drag shows, and more.
Here’s a list of bills for this week and links to help you take action.
Some bills have a hearing date so you can contact committee members, a few are in RTS and, for some, it’s time to contact your own representatives/senator.
