The Secular Coalition for Arizona mourns the loss of our dear friend, colleague and benefactor Anne Mardick, who died on February 15, 2018. Anne’s generosity and commitment helped launch and sustain our organization.
In addition to serving on our board, Anne was also the founder and president of the Greater Phoenix Chapter of Americans United for Separation of Church and State and the Freedom from Religion Foundation’s Valley of the Sun Chapter. She served on the board of the American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona and was a life member of the Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix, the American Humanist Association, the National Center for Science Education, and the Freedom from Religion Foundation. Anne was a Humanist minister and served as the Humanist representative on the Arizona Interfaith Movement’s board of directors.
After retiring from a career in telecommunications, Anne dedicated her life to making a difference in matters concerning the separation of church and state. Her many friends in the movement will miss her dedication, her generosity and her indomitable character.
