Defend equality at Peoria Unified School District

At the last meeting of Peoria Unified School District, reason and compassion prevailed against discrimination.

Board members voted 3-2 to reject a policy that would ban trans students from using bathrooms that align with their gender identity. Members heard more of the same old culture war rhetoric from the religious right… but they also heard voices of reason like this.

Backlash is expected from Christian nationalists—some of whom will be coming from out of district—at the next meeting this Thursday. They’ll be prepared to spout more misinformation about LGBTQ+ people. And they’ll be fired up by member Rebecca Hill’s outrageous comments that members should pull their kids out of the district over the issue.

We need to rally for equality and sanity.

Take inspiration from the video above… or pull facts from our bombshell speaker last Friday about religious hypocrisy on child abuse.

Hope to see you there.
