Bill Summary
Attempt to codify fetal personhood. Would allow for death certificates to be issued for embryos and fetuses before 20 weeks of gestation, which is before the point at which a fetus can survive outside the uterus. Would replace the term “fetus” with “unborn child,” require doctors to tell anyone having an abortion that they may transfer the “bodily remains” to a funeral home, and would violate Prop 139.
