Bill Summary
While the bill mandates that members of the clergy, priests, or Christian Science practitioners who receive information regarding child abuse or violent threats are generally required to report it, the bill specifies that a member of the clergy cannot be examined as a witness concerning a confession made to them in their professional role without their consent, even in civil or criminal proceedings where child abuse is an issue. Again, why protect predators over victims of abuse?
