Last night, I put a reminder on my phone, telling me to watch the entire video of President Obama and NYC Mayor, Zohran Mamdani reading and singing to a preschool class somewhere in New York. I had seen a few clips of it, and even sent some to my daughter to show to my grandson since they sang one of his favorite, absolute BANGERS, “The Wheels on the Bus.”
I didn’t schedule this viewing because I thought I’d learn anything from their videopromoting free childcare initiatives. I did it because I’ve promised myself that I’d insert more joy in my life.
I’m sure that the manosphere lost their minds at two men reading and singing to children, but thankfully, I wouldn’t know. I’ve made some major strides at reducing the amount of time I spend doomscrolling. A quick Google search showed that a pretend journalist called it “cringe” and I’m sure that people lost their minds on the nonconsensual porn-generating site formerly known as Twitter. I’m blissfully ignorant of whatever dumbass comments people are spewing because I no longer subject myself to that hellscape. Plus, the internet isn’t a real place.
