This year’s ballot promises to be one of the longest ever. Are you ready for two pages packed with more than a dozen initiatives on crucial issues like abortion rights, immigration, employment, and even voting itself?
Secular AZ offers a number of resources to help you be informed at the ballot box.
What’s on my (massive) ballot?
Your 2024 ballot will be one of, if not the, longest in our state’s history. Depending on where you live, expect multiple pages packed with candidates running for federal, state and local offices, judgeships, school boards, and at least 14 ballot initiatives.
And speaking of ballot initiatives, that’s where many Arizonans may really start to feel overwhelmed. With so many important issues on the table this year — such as reproductive rights, minimum wages, immigration, taxes, and the way elections are run — doing research ahead of time can really help when it comes time to fill out that ballot.
Election Resources
While Secular AZ doesn’t endorse candidates, we do offer election resources to help you get informed:
- Our Candidate Forums ask candidates questions related to church:state separation so you can hear where they stand on the issues you care about as a secular voter. Click here to watch recorded forums, and find upcoming forums on the Secular Calendar.
- Our Secular Speaker Series offers expert speakers on topics related to church:state separation, so you can gain greater understanding of the issues. Click here to register for upcoming talks and click here to see recorded presentations on the Secular AZ YouTube page.
- Our Election Resources page offers Legislative Scorecards. You’ll also find links that make it easy to find your AZ legislative district and elected representatives, and register to vote/check your voter registration status.
- Check out Voter Guides from around the state, like CEBV, Prescott Indivisible, Reproductive Freedom for All, AZNOW, Vic’s Picks, and Save Our Schools Arizona.
We also recommend asking candidates running for school board in your district if they support bonds and/or overrides. If the answer is “no,” they’re likely adherents to the Project 2025 playbook, which has the goal of to defunding and dismantle public schools.
