Arizonans for Gun Safety: Dr. Marie Thearle & Dr. Kaveh Najafi

Kaveh Najafi, DO FACS and Marie Thearle MD are volunteers with Arizonans for Gun Safety.

Dr. Kaveh Najafi is a fellowship trained trauma surgeon and surgical critical care intensivist. He is currently, the Chief of General Surgery at HonorHealth Osborn, Scottsdale’s Level One Trauma Center. His first hand experience with the devastation caused by firearms gives him a unique perspective as a board member for Arizonans for Gun Safety.

Dr. Thearle has been a leader in gun violence prevention advocacy for 4 years. She is a retired physician whose encore career is as an adjunct professor. As a mother of two children and an educator, she is passionate about working to reduce the gun violence public health crisis.
