Project 2025: What You Need to Know with Kay Klinkenborg

Project 2025 poses a threat to so many rights we hold dear. Drafted by Trump administration members and the Heritage Foundation, it threatens LGBTQ equality, reproductive rights and so much more… and it’s heavily intertwined with white Christian nationalism.
Kay Klinkenborg joined us on August 16; watch the video on Secular AZ’s YouTube channel.
The speaker has kindly provided a robust list of resources on Project 2025 and Christian nationalism; please click here to access these resources.
Project 2025 is an elaborately organized statement of purpose for the Republican Party, whether or not the 2024 election gives the country a Republican president. “The Second American Revolution is upon us” states Kevin Roberts, the President of Heritage Foundation. The Heritage Foundation is the homebase for “Project 2025” and released it in 2022; it’s the playbook for the next Republican president (and beyond), appointed government officials and elected cooperating nation-wide Republican leaders to “assemble an army of aligned, vetted, trained and prepared conservatives to go to work on Day 1 to deconstruct the administrative state,” as noted by MSNBC Newsletter Editor, Ryan Beckwith on July 9, 2024. Some changes mapped out in this playbook have already taken place since 2022. It is in motion.
Kay Klinkenborg will give a 30-40 minute presentation on Project 2025: brief history of its formation and a list of the core elements of change/ and or elimination of existing government departments, agencies and programs. This will be a followed by a Q & A facilitated by Executive Director of Secular Coalition, Jeanne Casteen.
